WHAT IS MEDICAL GRADE SKINCARE?

Medical grade skincare is formulated to a higher standard than regular products purchased in stores or over-the-counter. Creams and lotions are recommended by skincare therapists, doctors or other medical professionals to target specific concerns, and work to improve the overall quality and condition of the skin.

The Facebible stocks a range of medical grade skincare brands, including: Dr Levy, mesoestetic, Obagi, Alumier, Dr Schrammek, Biodroga and Heliocare. Each product is specially recommended or prescribed for you individually, and are tailored to meet your particular skincare needs, improving conditions such as: dull / dry skin, acne, rosacea, pigmentation, ageing skin (lines and wrinkles, skin laxity) and sun damage.

THE TREATMENT PROCESS

Every treatment process at The Facebible starts with a thorough consultation. We assess the look and feel of the skin using the skin visia analysis device, which takes an in-depth look at the various layers of the complexion. This equipment enables our clinicians to accurately identify presenting concerns, and those that are not yet visible, in order to make a more precise suggestion for treatment. From here we can recommend the most suitable product(s) for you. Medical grade skincare products are also referred to as ‘cosmeceuticals’ as they contain specific levels of active ingredients that are clinically proven to have a positive impact on the skin.

Medical grade skincare can absorb into the skin more effectively than many shop-bought products, and whilst they may have a higher price tag, their quality means they are much more effective.

AFTERCARE AND RESULTS

Medical grade skincare requires regular use at home, and many products deliver great results when used as part of an entire treatment protocol. As products are tailored specifically for the patient their suitability means there is less chance of side effects or further complications. Our aftercare advice only consists of suggestions when and how to use the products, ensuring patients maintain their suggested skincare routine to achieve the complexion they desire.

A noticeable transformation of the skin’s appearance often happens gradually, and may not be visible for around 6 – 12 weeks; allowing the products sufficient time to work their magic.

Faqs

Medical grade skincare is usually found to be suitable for almost anyone who wants to target a specific skincare concern. Products are tailored to meet your individual needs and there are creams and lotions that are designed to be kind to even the most sensitive of skin types.

The active ingredients contained within medical grade skincare products are carefully chosen to address the skin in a variety of ways. As the products are recommended by a medically trained skincare professional, based on the results of a thorough skin analysis, they are very safe to use.

Just like a person’s usual skincare routine, the application of medical grade skincare products should not cause any pain or irritation when being applied. If you do appear to react against their recommended products, it is advisable to stop using it straight away and contact the clinic.

There should be no side effects from using medical grade skincare. You should note that there may not be an instant result, as the products will need time to work with the skin. Typically, it may take between 4 and 12 weeks for the look and feel of the complexion to noticeably improve.

Our experienced clinicians will advise the duration of the recommended treatment programme. Medical grade skincare is generally recommended for the longer term to maintain the complexion’s improved quality and condition. As time passes, your specific treatment protocol may change, and different products may be suggested.
