WHAT IS NASOLABIAL LINE FILLER?
Nasolabial lines usually develop as a person gets older, and are facial lines that run from the edges of the nose, down towards the corners of the mouth. Nasolabial line filler is used to reduce the appearance of these wrinkles, which can contribute to a tired look.
This treatment is usually administered to both sides of the face, depending on the individual’s needs, helping to reverse the signs of ageing and rejuvenate the skin.
THE TREATMENT PROCESS
During a pre-treatment consultation, we will assess your concerns and talk about the outcome you are looking for. On the day of treatment we may use one of two ways to approach this procedure. The filler can be applied directly into the fold of skin, which will reduce the appearance of nasolabial lines by creating an even surface. Alternatively, the fillers can be administered into the cheek area so it is lifted away from the mouth. This technique can effectively reduce the weight of sagging skin in this area, which contributes to the deepening of nasolabial lines.
AFTERCARE AND RESULTS
The fillers will settle into place more effectively if you leave them alone for up to 6 hours after the procedure. This means no touching or unnecessary pressure should be applied. The outcome will also be more successful if you avoid extremes of heat and cold for the recommended 6 hours.
When any after effects have eased, a smoother surface of the skin will ensure that nasolabial lines appear reduced, and this part of the face can look younger and more refined.

Nasolabial line fillers can be suited to both men and women who are concerned by the appearance of nose to mouth folds. These wrinkles will usually develop as a person gets older, becoming more prominent over time. This treatment may not be recommended for you if your skin is affected by an existing medical condition, or active infection.

This treatment is administered via an injection which can be uncomfortable for some people. This is why The Facebible will offer each patient the opportunity to have a numbing cream administered to the treatment site prior to the procedure. Some dermal fillers will already contain a mild anaesthetic and for extra comfort, a very fine needle will be used.
Common side effects include redness, swelling and bruising where the injections have been applied. Our patients usually find these effects are minor and will have settled after 24 – 48 hours. Your practitioner will explain, during your consultation, any other risks that may be involved.
The use of dermal fillers to reduce the appearance of nasolabial lines is usually achieved in a single treatment session. As the results of this treatment are designed to be temporary, you may need to repeat the procedure on a regular basis. Many of our patients will arrange for maintenance sessions every 6 – 12 months.
